IRCC conducts Program-specific Express Entry draw to invite PNP candidates

The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted program-specific Express Entry draw on February 1, 2023 to invite 898 candidates with nomination received through a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

This is the first EE draw for PNP candidates and third Express Entry draw this year in general. Overall, its EE Draw number #239 since launch of this immigration program. Find out more.

Latest Express Entry draw on 1 February

The IRCC has invited total 893 PNP candidates this year with a minimum CRS score requirement of 733 points. The CRS score is understandably high considering this being a PNP category draw. The PNP candidates are those, who already have 600 CRS points added to their Express entry account, received based on provincial nomination.

Now, in just three Express Entry draws opened this year (until 1 February 2023), the IRCC has invited total 11,893 candidates to apply for the Canadian PR Visa, which is a great number. 

EE Draw Analysis

This is the first PNP category draw since long. Explicably, the number of invitations are less and CRS score requirement is relatively high compare to regular all-program Express Entry draws. However, opening of this PNP category draw is in a way blessing in disguise for the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category applicants.

This draw has invited PNP candidates and hence, almost one thousand high-ranking candidates in the pool have received the ITA. Consequently, it may result in the drop in the CUT OFF. If it happens, it will surely please the FSW category applicants waiting for the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa since long.
