General Skilled migration program to Australia

Australia is one of the hotspot immigration destinations for worldwide immigrants. It is an ideal country to live, study, work, and trade, simply because of its qualities, i.e. Cultural diversity, breath-taking monuments, excellent health and education system, encouraging Government Policies, etc.

The Significance of General Skilled Migration Program

The skilled migration program of Australia is to cater to the skill shortages problem in Australia and improve the size and skill level of the Australian Labour force. It aims to allow migrants, who have skills and extraordinary capabilities, to contribute to Australia’s economy and development.

However, the Skilled Migration program gives preference to the applicants interested in migrating to the regional areas, sponsored by employers or nominated by the state or territory.

GSM Visa Categories:

There are three main Visa Categories available under this Program. The first two are permanent visas, while the last one is a provisional visa allotted by the Australian government for 5 years. Let’s take a Look.

This is one of the most popular visa categories in Australia. The Skill Independent Visa is for the skilled workers who have been point tested, however, not sponsored or nominated by an employer, family member, province, or territory. Through Skill Independent Visa, you can get permanent residency status to stay and work in Australia.

The skilled Nominated visa ‚Äďsubclass 190 is for the candidates sponsored by the Australian state or territory. The applicants, however, will be selected based on their skill, experience, and profile details as mentioned in Skill select.¬†

The new Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa Subclass 491 is a provisional visa is for those skilled workers who want to live and work in regional Australia. This is a new visa category launched by the Australian government on November 16, 2019. This visa replaced the old Skilled Regional (Provisional) Visa Subclass 489, repealed on the same date.

All three of the above are point tested visas, which means you need to have a good point score, based on age, education, work experience, English proficiency, etc., to get an Invitation to Apply for the desired visa, the Department of Home Affairs, Australia.
