The Australian government has indicated a positive outlook for immigration in the coming year, with a focus on attracting skilled migrants to address critical skill shortages across various sectors. This suggests a continued demand for skilled professionals seeking to relocate to Australia.

The Australian government has signalled a focus on attracting skilled workers and professionals to bridge critical labor shortages. This presents a significant opportunity for individuals seeking Australia immigration in 2025. The government is also reportedly working towards streamlining visa processing times, which could lead to faster application decisions for prospective PR applicants.

Why this is the Best Time to Apply for an Australian PR Visa?

Here's Why You Should Consider It!

Australia is actively recruiting skilled immigrants to support its growing economy, making 2024-2025 a great time to consider applying for a Permanent Residency (PR) visa. The country aims to welcome 185,000 new residents this year, demonstrating a strong need for skilled professionals to drive economic growth.

  • Skills Stream Takes Centre Stage: The good news for skilled professionals is that a whopping 71% (approximately 132,200 places) of these new spots are allocated to the Skills Stream. This translates to a fantastic opportunity to secure your place in Australia if you possess skills in high demand.
  • Focus on Regional Australia: The Skills Stream is particularly focused on addressing skill shortages in regional areas. This means even greater chances for skilled individuals willing to explore life outside of major cities.
  • Family Reunification Still Strong: While the Skills Stream dominates, Australia remains committed to family reunification. The Family Stream offers roughly 28% of the total target (around 52,500 places) for Partner and Child visas, allowing Australians to reunite with loved ones.

Low Points Requirement and faster processing time

The other key reasons to apply for and obtain the PR visa this year are improved processing time as well as the reduced or relatively low immigration point requirement from DHA in the online SkillSelect System. Also, the Aussie states are nominating the candidates with relatively relaxed immigration requirements.
