Ontario Invites 1,404 Skilled Trades Workers Under Employer Job Offer Streams – February 18, 2026

Great news for skilled trades workers already in Canada! On February 18, 2026, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) issued 1,404 Invitations to Apply (ITAs)under the Employer Job Offer streams, specifically targeting candidates working in skilled trades occupations. This draw reflects Ontario’s strong demand for workers in construction, electrical, mechanical, transportation, mining, and industrial sectors.

 Draw Highlights

  • Total Invitations Issued: 1,404

  • Streams Covered:

    • Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker

    • Employer Job Offer: International Student

  • Minimum Score Required:

    • 50+ (Foreign Worker stream)

    • 80+ (International Student stream)

  • Profile Deadline: Must have been created by February 16, 2026 (11:59 PM)

? Who Was Targeted?

This was a Skilled Trades-focused draw, covering a wide range of National Occupational Classification (NOC) codes, including:

  • Electricians (Industrial & Construction)

  • Plumbers & Pipefitters

  • Carpenters & Cabinetmakers

  • Welders & Metal Fabricators

  • Heavy-Duty Equipment Mechanics

  • HVAC Technicians

  • Automotive Service Technicians

  • Crane Operators

  • Construction Supervisors

  • Mining & Oil/Gas Supervisors

  • Railway & Transit Operators

  • Industrial Process Control Operators

If you are working in one of these trades in Ontario with a valid job offer, this draw could be a major opportunity toward permanent residency.

? Key Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for this draw, candidates must:

?? Be currently residing in Canada
?? Hold a valid work or study permit
?? Have a full-time job offer in an eligible skilled trade occupation
?? Meet stream-specific criteria

? Important Deadlines

  • Employers must submit their application within 14 calendar days.

  • Candidates must submit their complete OINP application within 17 calendar days of receiving the invitation (through the OINP e-Filing Portal – file prefix JOXX).

Missing these deadlines can result in the invitation being cancelled.

? Why This Draw Matters

Ontario continues to prioritize labour shortages in skilled trades, which remain critical to infrastructure development, housing projects, transportation systems, and energy sectors.

With over 1,400 invitations issued, this is one of the significant skilled trade draws under the Employer Job Offer streams in 2026 so far.

If you are a trades professional working in Ontario, this is the time to review your eligibility and prepare your documentation.
