IRCC Invites Canadian Experience Class Candidates in New Express Entry Draw

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) recently issued 1,000 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residency to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) program.

This draw, which took place on August 7, 2025, had a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 534. Candidates also needed to have created their Express Entry profile before 6:22 a.m. UTC on August 3, 2025, to be considered.

What is the Canadian Experience Class (CEC)?

The CEC is one of three federal immigration programs managed under the Express Entry system. It's designed for skilled workers who have Canadian work experience and want to become permanent residents. To be eligible, candidates need to have at least one year of skilled work experience in Canada within the three years before they apply.

What is the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)?

The CRS is a points-based system used by IRCC to rank candidates in the Express Entry pool. It assesses factors like age, education, language proficiency, and work experience. Candidates with higher CRS scores are more likely to receive an invitation to apply for permanent residence.

Express Entry Draws for 2025: A Look at the Numbers

So far in 2025, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued a total of 50,628 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system. The year's strategy has shown a strong focus on provincial nominee candidates.
