India and Taiwan have further strengthened their collaboration with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on migration and mobility. This agreement, aimed at tackling Taiwan’s labour shortages in sectors i.e. manufacturing, agriculture, and construction, was formalized during a virtual ceremony attended by Manharsinh Laxmanbhai Yadav, director general of the India Taipei Association, and Baushuan Ger, head of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Centre, New Delhi.
Opportunity for Indian Skilled Workers to work in Taiwan
Overpowering roadblocks, i.e. bring into line medical testing procedures and migration databases, this agreement replicates a significant milestone in bilateral labour cooperation. Taiwan's aging population and low birth rate have demanded a diversified workforce, leading to the addition of India as a new source country for migrant workers.
