Express Entry Draw Predictions April 2024- Category-based Draws Holds the key for Applicants

The month of March has been decent enough for the Canada PR Visa aspirants registered in the federal Express Entry System. In this month the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 7,305 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa. Now, if we track and observe the trends of the last month and prior, we can surely get some idea, how the upcoming draw results going to be this year.

Status of Express Entry pool

If you look at the Express Entry pool status as on March 24, 2024, total 11,329 candidates have the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score above 500 points. This is huge number and by the time next EE draw will occur, this number will rise further.

Looking at the EE pool status above, it is evident that the CRS score is going to remain above 500 at least for next few all-category (General) Express Entry draws. In such a situation, the Category-based Express Entry draws holds the key for the candidates with CRS score below 500 points.

In the month of March, as usual, in the all-category draws the Cut-off was above 500 mark, however, it dropped significantly in the two category-based draws (430 and 388) occurred on 13 and 26 March.

Hence, Category-based selections are best chance for applicants to get the Canada PR invitation this year.

Canada has kept same categories for Category-based Express Entry draws this year, which were used in 2023. The categories retained for 2024 are:

• A strong French language proficiency or
• Work experience in one of the below fields:
  • healthcare
  • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
  • transport
  • agriculture and Agri-food
