The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) continues its proactive approach to addressing provincial labor market needs, having conducted four strategic selection draws in the final two weeks of October. These rounds resulted in the issuance of over 1,100 invitations across various streams and dedicated pathways, reinforcing the province's commitment to attracting skilled foreign workers and facilitating their transition to permanent residency.
October 2025 AAIP Draw Summary
The draws were highly targeted, focusing on essential sectors like health care, construction, and public safety, in addition to the high-volume in-province worker stream.
| Draw Date | Worker Stream, Pathway, Initiative or Other Focus and Selection Parameters | Minimum Score of Invited Candidates | Number of Invitations |
| October 29, 2025 | Alberta Express Entry Stream – Law Enforcement Pathway | 46 | <10> |
| October 28, 2025 | Alberta Express Entry Stream – Priority Sectors (Construction) | 60 | 60 |
| October 24, 2025 | Dedicated Health Care Pathway – non-Express Entry | 42 | 142 |
| October 23, 2025 | Alberta Opportunity Stream | 60 | 900 |
Key Stream Focus and Strategic Intent
The majority of invitations (900) were extended through the Alberta Opportunity Stream, a vital pathway for temporary foreign workers currently employed full-time in Alberta with a qualifying job offer. This stream is foundational to the AAIP's goal of retaining valuable in-province talent.
Provincial Nomination Allocation Update
Alberta's capacity for provincial nominations saw a significant increase in September 2025, when the federal government raised the provincial nomination allocation from an initial 4,875 slots to a total of 6,603. This expanded allocation has been strategically distributed across AAIP streams to maximize impact on provincial economic and labor priorities.
To date, the AAIP has issued 5,137 nominations, leaving a remaining capacity of 1,466 nomination spaces for the remainder of the calendar year.
The below table provides a comprehensive breakdown of the AAIP's nomination status by stream as of November 5, 2025:
| Stream | 2025 Nomination Allocation | Nominations Issued Thus Far | Nominations Still to Be Issued | Number of EOIs in the Candidate Pool |
| Alberta Opportunity Stream | 3,656 | 2,755 | 901 | 31,149 |
| Rural Renewal Stream | 1,100 | 970 | 130 | 3,311 |
| Tourism and Hospitality Stream | 245 | 228 | 17 | 5,580 |
| Dedicated Health Care Pathways (Express Entry and non-Express Entry) | 585 | 487 | 98 | 1,330 |

| Alberta Express Entry Stream: Priority sectors and other initiatives: (construction, agriculture, aviation) | 660 | 447 | 213 | 4,215 |

The data confirms the AAIP's strategic utilization of its increased allocation, with a strong focus on high-demand, high-volume streams like the Alberta Opportunity Stream and essential services like Health Care and skilled trades.
