IRCC to Introduce Six New PR Pathways for essential temporary workers, international graduates and French speakers

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada(IRCC) has announced about introducing six new Permanent Residence (PR) pathways for more than 90,000 international graduates and essential workers who are actively contributing to the Canadian economy.

 

According to special public policies, those temporary workers and international graduates who are already living in Canada and have right set of skills and work experience can apply for permanent residency and support the nation in creating more jobs, drive long-term growth and quick economic recovery.

 

The following streams will start accepting applications from May 6, 2021:

 

  • Temporary workers in health care - 20,000 applications
  • Temporary workers in other selected essential occupations - 30,000 applications
  • International students who graduated from a Canadian institution - 40,000 applications

 

All three streams will remain open until November 5, 2021, or until they reach their limit.

 

In order to qualify under the above-mentioned streams, workers must have a minimum of 1 year of Canadian work experience in a healthcare profession or any pre-approved essential occupation. While, an International graduate must have finished an eligible Canadian post-secondary program in the past 4 years, before January 2017.

 

Additional Streams for French-speaking or bilingual candidates

 

The IRCC has also introduced three 3 additional streams for French-speaking or bilingual candidates. This step has been taken to support Francophone minority communities.

 

Following are the additional streams for French-speaking immigrants with no intake cap:

 

  • French-speaking international student graduates
  • French-speaking essential workers in healthcare
  • PR pathway for French-speaking essential workers in other
