Australia has updated its Occupation Lists- Find latest Australia Skilled Occupation list Changes 2019

Australia has updated its key Skilled Occupation lists on March 11, 2019. The government has implemented some major changes in the immigration program, which comprise updating of eligible occupations for permanent and temporary immigration to Australia. The changes have been made as per the latest job market scenario across various states and territories.

  • Skilled Independent visa (subclass 189) - Points-tested stream: A new skilled occupation list and new instrument(LIN 19/051) has been posted online, with eligible skilled occupations for this program included on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) Total 212 skilled occupations are now eligible for this visa program.
  • Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190): A new skilled occupation list and new instrument (LIN 19/051) has been posted online and visa applicants will continue being able to access the Short-term Skilled Occupations List (STSOL)and Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)- in order to support Australia's regional economy. Total 427 skilled occupations are now eligible for this visa program.
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489)- Family nominated: A new skilled occupation list and new instrument(LIN 19/051) has been posted online and applicants for this visa program will continue being able to access the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).Total 212 skilled occupations are now eligible for this visa program.
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) - State or Territory nominated: A new skilled occupation list and new instrument (LIN 19/051) has been posted online and skilled workers nominated by a state or territory government can apply with an occupation on the Short-term Skilled Occupations List (STSOL), Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) and Regional Occupation List(ROL), which allows workers to live and work in regional or low-population growth metropolitan areas. Total 504 skilled occupations are now eligible for this visa program.
  • For some skilled occupations, changes to assessing authorities have been made.
