Australia has added 22 new occupations to the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL)

The Department of Home Affairs, Australia has updated the Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) on June 22, 2021.The DHA has added 22 new occupations to the list this time around. The PMSOL is the list of 41 occupations, which fill critical skills of Australia to support economic recovery of the land down under, from Global Pandemic.

The list has been prepared as per the advice and suggestions taken from the National Skills Commission and consultation with Commonwealth departments.

Revised Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL)

As per the government, it will give the priority-processing benefit to theEmployer sponsored nomination and visa applicationsupon having an occupation in Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List. All other skilled occupation lists will remain active;however, the PMSOL occupations will be given thepriority.

Although, this list is temporary and priority occupations are subject to change depending on the pandemic recovery status.

The PMSOL status applies to some keyVisa subclasses

The Priority processing of nomination and visa applications for PMSOL occupations is applicable to following employer sponsored visa subclasses:

  • Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) visa (subclass 482)
  • Skilled Employer Sponsored Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 494)
  • Employer Nomination Scheme (ENS) visa (subclass 186)
  • Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) visa (subclass 187)
