First-ever Express Entry draw for Transport Occupations- Canada issues 1,000 Invitations

The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) opened first ever category-based Express Entry draw for Transport Occupations on September 20, 2023. In this EE draw, IRCC has issued 1,000 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa. Find out more about this special Express Entry invitation round. 

Category-based EE Draw on 20 Sep (Transport Occupations)

In this latest Category-based EE draw, Canada has invited total 1,000 candidates with experience in the Transport occupations, i.e. commercial truck drivers, pilots and aircraft assembly workers. The invited candidates had the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 435 points or higher.

EE Draw Analysis

Canadian Immigration Minister Mark Miller announced the category-based selection for the Transport Occupations on 18 September only. As was expected, the IRCC has dropped the CUT OFF significantly to just 435 points, while it was relatively high, i.e. 531 points in the previous draw held just a day before on 19 September. The category-based selections are game changer especially for the express entry candidates with low CRS point score.
