PNPs (Provincial Nominee Programs) as the name suggest are the immigration programs, which allow the different provinces across Canada to select the immigrants, appropriate for its labour market and economy. The Candidate who wishes to immigrate to and settle in a specific province of Canada can apply in the respective PNP programs.
Every province selects a provinces based on its own needs, criteria and parameters and hence each provinces has different set of requirements as well. The Quebec Province is not enrolled in PNP programs as it has its own selection criteria and system to select immigrants for its region. Each province has a contract with IRCC (Immigration Citizenship Refugee Canada) that permits them to choose permanent residents for their own province.
What are the key benefits of applying to a PNP program for Canada Immigration?
The PNP programs are different from the main stream federal immigration programs of Canada. Depending on the PNP programs, you get many relaxations as an applicant, i.e.
If you apply in any of the PNP(See bottom of the page) and get selected, you receive a nomination from that particular province, which makes you eligible to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
There are two basic pathways to apply for a PNP Program of a particular province in Canada:
⇒ Apply to a PNP of a Province directly: You have chosen a province in Canada to settle, you can directly apply in its Provincial Nominee Program. Here are the steps you need to follow in direct PNP application:
On receipt of the application, IRCC usually does the formalities, i.e. verification of the medical and character certifications of a candidate, etc. And second
⇒ Apply via Express Entry System: If you register on Express entry and make it to the Express entry pool, your profile can be viewed and selected by the different provinces or territories of Canada. If your profile is picked by any of the province, you will get invitation to get in touch with the province to be considered for their program. If you are invited in such a way by a province, you become eligible to get an online ITA for Permanent residency visa, based on the nomination/invitation from the province.
Well, this is the most common question every Canada immigration and PR applicants asks more than often. Express entry system is largest and most popular immigration system of Canada. It assess the profile of the applicants based on their total points scored based on age, education, work experience, language skills, etc. criteria. If your point score is high enough (442 CRS points as per latest EE draw launched on February 21) you will get invitation to apply Canada PR from IRCC.
However, if your CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) is low, you can plan to apply in any of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for Canada. Many PNPs accept the applicant even with low CRS score. For instance, Ontario accepts the applicant with CRS score 400 points or above. Canadian Provinces also invite the applicants from express entry pool, under Express Entry Stream of their PNP, based on CRS score and eligibility.
The Express Entry stream of a PNP is the stream aligned with federal express entry system. Under this stream a Canadian provinces are allowed to select the candidates from express entry pool and notify them to apply in their Provincial Nominee Program.
If an applicant applies and get selected, he/she becomes eligible to get the provincial nomination and subsequently receives 600 additional CRS points in federal express entry system. The 600 CRS points ensures the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canada PR from IRCC in the subsequent draw of federal Express Entry System.
Well, in Canada, there are multiple Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which invite the applicants and subsequently nominate the selected applicants for Canadian permanent Residency. A few largely popular Provincial Nominee Programs of Canada are:
OINP invites applicant with 400 CRS points, while SINP has low IELTS Score requirement.
Which PNP require lowest IELTS score?
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is key selection parameter in Canada immigration system. The Immigration authorities verify the English proficiency level of an applicant based on their IELTS Test result. Hence, ILTS is a globally recognized and accepted English langue proficiency test.

I would like to extend a very big Thank You to the whole team of Visas Avenue, especially my case managers Mrigya Shah and Arpita Saha as you both were a great help to reach towards my PR goal.Initially I didn't had any knowledge about any PR/Visa process however, VA team guided me and finally your efforts have turned my future in a right direction. The team was well versed with the complete PR process knowledge. Finally I can say that my decision to choose VA Team out of all other consultants came out well and would definitely recommend Visas Avenue to anyone who has been planning for their PR journey.
We had consulted Visas Avenue after giving the IELTS exam. On talking to Chaitali Surve from Visas Avenue - Andheri, we got a very clear picture of the scores we need & all the other details related to the PR application. She gave us a road-map to follow for the next few with a clear step by step approach. On giving the exam again, we started the process for application with them. We were introduced to 2 representatives namely Mrigya Shah & Apita Saha who helped us through the application process. They were both really helpful & handled all the co-ordinations meticulously. In spite of the initial hurdles for the documents & running a bit late, since we were out of town, they finished our application processing on time during the weekend. Not a single extra document was asked for, once we had completed the application. They both had been of tremendous help all the time. We could easily reach out to them whenever needed. Our passports have been sent via vfs ,waiting for our visa's now.Thank you Chaitali Surve, Arpita Saha & Mrigya Shah

I landed with Visas avenue 1 year back as I checked for registered consultancies in Australia government website. I am thankful to all the people who were aligned to me from this consultancy and helped me get my PR. Today I am content with the service provided, the knowledge level they shared with me and at times when I was stuck they found the right way to resolve the issue. My experience began with Shivani with whom I became confident and chose this consultancy to move forward. My case manager Mrigya channeled my documentation part well and communicated to me timely. Even when she was on leave there was secondary assistance given by Arpita to help my case. Overall it has been a happy journey and a smooth one. Thanks for all your support and guidance.
My experience with visas avenue has been great, all the services they provided were more than what I expected, as we all know Visa applications are always quite a task to do, but Visas avenue made it really easy, my case was handled by Arpita and Mrigya from Visas Avenue team, they provided me the checklist of tasks and documents that I would need, and not only this they literally hand held me through the whole process, with continuous feedback and reminders of things I need to get done and I got my PR application approved in minimum time. Thanks to the Visas Avenue Team, Kuddos !!
Enrolled with Visas Avenue in 2017 for Canada PR. Have had a good experience. Except for a few follow ups that were needed at times, I am satisfied with my over all result. Mrigya was my lead consultant, and she has helped me in all possible ways whenever I was in doubt. Have also received great support from Arpita from the team. I recommend everyone looking to settle abroad, can safely choose VISAS AVENUE as their partner.
Great association with the team. Query resolution is appreciable. Patience in answering queries anytime. Professionalism in the way they deal things. Thanks a lot to my case manager Jyoti Singh for all the pain she has taken to set things right for me. Kudos to the entire team !!The day I decided to immigrate to Canada, I had looked for many options on which consultancy to choose and finally VisasAvenue was my choice. I am happy that I made right decision in choosing VisasAvenue. Though I had some probelms in getting things done in right time initially and had change of case managers from time to time, all the issues were solved and case went smoothly once Jyoti Singh was assigned. She was very responsive and the way she resolved all the queries is appreciable. Jyoti Singh gave me mental strength when there was delay in processing of the application and assured me that everything is going to be ok. When I recieved my passports with stamp the person I thanked first was Jyoti Singh. Thanks to her and the entire team who involved in this journey.
