PNPs (Provincial Nominee Programs) as the name suggest are the immigration programs, which allow the different provinces across Canada to select the immigrants, appropriate for its labour market and economy. The Candidate who wishes to immigrate to and settle in a specific province of Canada can apply in the respective PNP programs.
Every province selects a provinces based on its own needs, criteria and parameters and hence each provinces has different set of requirements as well. The Quebec Province is not enrolled in PNP programs as it has its own selection criteria and system to select immigrants for its region. Each province has a contract with IRCC (Immigration Citizenship Refugee Canada) that permits them to choose permanent residents for their own province.
What are the key benefits of applying to a PNP program for Canada Immigration?
The PNP programs are different from the main stream federal immigration programs of Canada. Depending on the PNP programs, you get many relaxations as an applicant, i.e.
If you apply in any of the PNP(See bottom of the page) and get selected, you receive a nomination from that particular province, which makes you eligible to apply for permanent residency in Canada.
There are two basic pathways to apply for a PNP Program of a particular province in Canada:
⇒ Apply to a PNP of a Province directly: You have chosen a province in Canada to settle, you can directly apply in its Provincial Nominee Program. Here are the steps you need to follow in direct PNP application:
On receipt of the application, IRCC usually does the formalities, i.e. verification of the medical and character certifications of a candidate, etc. And second
⇒ Apply via Express Entry System: If you register on Express entry and make it to the Express entry pool, your profile can be viewed and selected by the different provinces or territories of Canada. If your profile is picked by any of the province, you will get invitation to get in touch with the province to be considered for their program. If you are invited in such a way by a province, you become eligible to get an online ITA for Permanent residency visa, based on the nomination/invitation from the province.
Well, this is the most common question every Canada immigration and PR applicants asks more than often. Express entry system is largest and most popular immigration system of Canada. It assess the profile of the applicants based on their total points scored based on age, education, work experience, language skills, etc. criteria. If your point score is high enough (442 CRS points as per latest EE draw launched on February 21) you will get invitation to apply Canada PR from IRCC.
However, if your CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) is low, you can plan to apply in any of the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) for Canada. Many PNPs accept the applicant even with low CRS score. For instance, Ontario accepts the applicant with CRS score 400 points or above. Canadian Provinces also invite the applicants from express entry pool, under Express Entry Stream of their PNP, based on CRS score and eligibility.
The Express Entry stream of a PNP is the stream aligned with federal express entry system. Under this stream a Canadian provinces are allowed to select the candidates from express entry pool and notify them to apply in their Provincial Nominee Program.
If an applicant applies and get selected, he/she becomes eligible to get the provincial nomination and subsequently receives 600 additional CRS points in federal express entry system. The 600 CRS points ensures the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canada PR from IRCC in the subsequent draw of federal Express Entry System.
Well, in Canada, there are multiple Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), which invite the applicants and subsequently nominate the selected applicants for Canadian permanent Residency. A few largely popular Provincial Nominee Programs of Canada are:
OINP invites applicant with 400 CRS points, while SINP has low IELTS Score requirement.
Which PNP require lowest IELTS score?
The IELTS (International English Language Testing System) is key selection parameter in Canada immigration system. The Immigration authorities verify the English proficiency level of an applicant based on their IELTS Test result. Hence, ILTS is a globally recognized and accepted English langue proficiency test.

The whole process was handled by the team over calls and emails and I never felt skeptical about anything, as the transparency maintained by them was commendable. I would thank Divya, who helped me be very clear about the whole process and also Jyotsna, who was always very warm and immediately sorted out all the hiccups I had. Being in a different city or never being able to visit the office was not at all a hurdle to the process, it seemed as if they were constantly connected. A very very special thanks to my case manager Ms.Surbhi Rastogi, who was extremely patient at handling all my queries even if I asked the same things a million times. She kept me motivated and helped me stay positive through the process. She is extremely dedicated and always ensured that all the documents were precise. If you are looking for a Visa company who is fast, organized and very detailed oriented then you should get in touch with Visas Avenue Pvt. Ltd. Shivangi Arora was my case manager and she has a very good knowledge of the process. She was very prompt and diligent, she made sure that all the documents are provided on time so that the Immigration doesn't ask for anything at a later stage.I am really happy with their work as I have got my Australian PR because of them which is like a dream come true with 50 bands in each module in PTE test.I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and relatives who are looking forward for their visa processing. Keep doing the good job and making lives!!
Visas Avenue is one of those companies that come by pleasant surprise unexpectedly. I picked them off google and gave them a ring offhand, 10 months back. Ankita convinced me that I was on the right track and kick-started my formalities within a couple of days. Thereafter their Client relationship manager Ruchika Sharma has been guiding through the nuances of the PR petitioning process at every turn. Though they worked out of Delhi and I out of Bombay, there never was any need to ever meet in person. The communiques and responses were always time and i never had any reason to complain. So cheers and i hope they extend the same professionalism going forward as well.
I would like to share my feedback on the services provided by the Visa avenue for the successful completion of my file and arrival of my PR visa. I would specially like to express my gratitude to Ms Ankita Jain who was my first point of contact with the company and motivated me to go ahead with the process when i was skeptical of the idea. I would also like to thank my case manager Mr Vijay Singh who worked on my profile and kept me updated. Thankyou so much team!
To begin with, I was rather apprehensive about starting my visa process with Visas Avenue as I am based out of Hyderabad and they had just inaugurated their branch in Hyderabad and I was among the very first clients to visit their office to inquire about the Canadian PR process. I must admit that I was rather overwhelmed by the information and the guidance they provided me in the first meeting given that Express Entry was relatively new process. But, I was convinced that they had the knowledge and expertise to guide me through the process. Though I was impressed, I still had my apprehensions as I was told that the documentation process would be handled at the New Delhi office, I had reservations about how effective the communication process would be. But, the process was handled very professionally and I was assigned to my case manager Shivangi Arora based in New Delhi office. Again, I was impressed by the amount of knowledge she possessed about the Canadian Immigration process and was very clear in communicating the way ahead for the visa process. There was constant two way communication and she was always readily available to respond to my queries. She was always there at all stages of the documentation process right from helping in drafting reference letters to choosing the correct NOC code for my profession. She was very proactive in communicating about the provincial nominations whenever available and was constantly following up on the updates about my application. I am a Canadian PR now and I never faced any issues during my entire application process thanks to the dedicated efforts of Shivangi and the entire Visas Avenue team.
I used services of visas Avenue for immigration to Canada and got my visa in less than three months. All the paperwork was done by the Visas Avenue Team and I just had to send them the scanned copies of my certificates. I had lots of doubts regarding Degree Evaluation which Ruchika & Phanjina from the team solved them with ease. After this visa, I also got a job in a Canadian firm right from sitting here in India. And I am going to do my first landing in May.You of course can do the entire process on your own, but if you want it to be done in the correct way and quickly, I highly recommend their services.
