Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL) is a high demand occupation list of Australia. The MLTSSL has replaced the earlier Skilled Occupation List (SOL) of Australia. Like the previous Skilled Occupation List, the government will revise this newly introduced occupation list every year. Through its occupation list MLTSSL, the government reveals the in-demand occupations in the country for which skilled foreign workers can apply.
Note: Australia has created a temporary Priority Migration Skilled Occupation List (PMSOL) in view of the global pandemic. The applications of those sponsoring employers and visa applications who have an occupation on the PMSOL are processed on a priority basis. All other skilled occupation lists of Australia will also remain active, but the priority will be given to PMSOL occupations.
The foreign skilled works having skills and experience to get employment in any of the occupations listed in MLTSSL can choose an occupation from this list to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) online. The applicants who wish to apply for any of the below visa categories can nominate an occupation from MLTSSL.
Note: Australian government for new applications has closed regional Skilled Migration Scheme Visa Subclass 489. A new visa, i.e. Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa Subclass 491, has replaced this visa with effect from November 16, 2019.
As the list is subject to change, it is wise to consult the certified Australia Migration Expert at Visas Avenue to confirm the latest status of occupations listed in MLTSSL.
