First Express Entry draw in January 2023- Find out the update & Preview

The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) is yet to conduct it’s first Express Entry draw in 2023. The Canadian Permanent Resident (PR) Visa aspirants are eagerly waiting for EE draw, as the IRCC has not conducted any since November 23, 2022.

The glitches occurred post implementation of new NOC 2021 system is one of the key reasons of this delay in conducting the draw. Now, Canadian PR applicant have two big questions in mind at this juncture, i.e.

  1. When will next Express Entry draw open?
  2. What will be draw results in terms of CUT OFF, ITAs, etc.

Read this article until the end to find out answer to all your queries.

Express Entry draw is around the corner- get ready

The Express Entry draw will open soon to invite a significant number of candidates. Here are a few key reasons to stay positive about the quick occurrence of Express Entry draw:

  • The ongoing pause on EE draws, will not last long as it’s not due to any big reason, such as, pandemic, etc. rather it is just because of some technical glitch. And Express Entry is capable of fixing the same in quick time being the most advanced immigration application management system in the world
  • Secondly, the IRCC has massive immigration target for the year 2023 and to achieve the same, it needs to conduct draws or invitation rounds at regular intervals. Canada will invite 465,000 new permanent residents and nearly 60 percent of these newcomers will be accepted under economic immigration programs, i.e. Express Entry and PNP, etc.

Considering the above factors, it is evident the Express Entry draws will open in quick time, i.e. possibly in the first half of January itself. Find out the preview of upcoming EE draw.

Now, regarding the upcoming EE draws in 2023, the people also have some questions about the draw results, i.e.

  • What will be the CUT OFF in upcoming EE draw: Well, the express Entry CUT OFF was 491 points in the last EE draw occurred on 23 November 2022. Since it is more than one and half month since previous EE draw, a significant number of candidates have now entered in the Express Entry pool with a very high CRS point score. So, in the upcoming EE draw, the CRS score requirement may either stay unchanged or may increase beyond 500 mark.
  • What will be number of ITAs: The IRCC has been inviting 4,750 candidates consistently for last few draws. Now, taking in account the huge immigration target of IRCC for this year, the number of invitations may remain around the same previous mark, i.e. somewhere around 4,000 - 5,000.
  • Will Occupation based draws replace the regular all program draws- This is the common question in the mind of every Express Entry applicant. Well, in view of the ongoing current setup, its unlikely for IRCC to only hold the occupation based draws. Firstly, the IRCC has a huge immigration target to meet and secondly, it cannot afford to keep candidates with high CRS score (i.e. 490 or 500+) waiting in the pool, just because of their occupation. Hence, it will most probably be the mix of both occupation based and regular draws in months to come.

Positives all round for Canada PR aspirants
