The IRCC opens Second Express Entry draw in 24 hours- Invites 4,750 CEC candidates

The IRCC has opened second Express Entry draw of the year on 7th January 2021, i.e. within just 24 hours of the previous draw, to invite 4,750 candidates to apply for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa. However, this EE draw is a program-specific draw for CEC (Canadian Experience Class) candidates only. Let us find out more details about this new EE draw.

Express Entry draw on 7th January

The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has opened this draw to invite CEC candidates, i.e. the candidates who already have Canadian work experience and to get a PR visa in the maple leaf country.

The CRS score understandably drops to 461 points, as its program-specific draw and not meant for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category of the EE system. Now, in the last two program-specific draws (for PNP and CEC candidates), Express Entry has invited a total of 5,000 candidates to apply for a Canadian PR visa.

Will CRS Score drop for FSW draw?

With a 2021 annual target of 108,500 invitations for the Federal High Skilled category, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) are likely to drops the CRS score requirement for FSW draws. The number of Express Entry invitations too is likely to increase in the upcoming EE draws for the FSW category.

Hence, if you are an aspirant for a Canadian PR visa, you have every reason to be positive about the forthcoming EE rounds of invitations.

If you are thinking of immigrating to Canada, this is possibly the right time to apply for the same. The federal, as well as the provincial governments of Canada, have been quite positive about inviting immigrants in the last few months.
