The Australian Second Working Holiday (Subclass 417) Visa Will Have a Few Changes Soon

Posted - 26, Oct 2015

As per the recent news, the Department of Immigration as well as Border Protection may make changes to the Second Working Holiday (Subclass 417) Visa initiative, in order to exclude the Volunteer work activities, i.e. WWOOF(Willing Workers on Organic Farms), from its eligibility structure. The decision to change the same has been taken after many meetings and discussions about the same in the past. Finally, both Australian Immigration Department and Border Protection decided to make changes in the current process and implement the mentioned changes by the end of this year 2015.

However, it will not affect the current Second Working Holiday Visa applications by any means, as changes are not going to get implemented anytime soon. The Department of Immigration will announce the date of implementation of the changes, publically on its website, once they are confirmed about the exact date. The department will give ample time to the participants, and the date of implementation will be announced well before the actual implementation. Although the changes are more like to be implemented towards the end of this year, however, the participants are still advised to regularly check the website of the Department of Immigration for the regular updates and news regarding the same.
