South Australia’s Skilled Migration Program is now open for Offshore Applicants

SA’s Skilled Migration Program 2022-23

On 25 August 2022, SA has opened 2022-23 Skilled & Business Migration program. The interim nomination allocation of SA is 5,880 places in the General Skilled Migration program for this program year. South Australia offers two visa pathways to permanent residency, i.e.

• Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190 – State nominated permanent visa
• Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa Subclass 491- A five year visa that offers PR option after 3 years

To register in SkillSelect and obtain the nomination for any of the above visa categories, you must meet following criteria:

• You must have an occupation on the relevant skilled occupation list
• You need to have a suitable skills assessment for the occupation
• IELTS test for English proficiency with relevant band score
• you must get invitation to apply for this visa
• Fulfil the points test

Offshore applicants for the General Skilled Migration program

The SA will enhance its nominations of offshore skilled migrants in the program year 2022-23 to make their entry to the SA labour market faster, in view of the urgent skills shortages. Here are few points to note for SA state nomination aspirants.

• SA will select offshore applicants to apply for state nomination from the candidates, who have submitted an EOI via online SkillSelect system
• Offshore applicants do not require lodging a Registration of Interest (ROI) for this year’s program.
• SA will nominate the offshore applicants from over 470 occupations on South Australia’s Skilled Migration Occupation List
• To be eligible for selection for SA state nomination, make certain that all the information in your SkillSelect EOI is up to date and you have chosen South Australia as your first preferred state or territory to immigrate to in Australia.
