South Australia has revised State Nominated Occupation List (SNOL) for 2019-20

Immigration South Australia (SA) has revised its Lists of State Nominated Occupations for the 2019-20.With the release of a new occupation list, the applications for state nomination will be open from mid-afternoon of 3 July 2019 (Wednesday).An applicant interested in applying for state nomination must review the latest and updated State nomination requirement under General Skilled Migration (GSM) program.

Changes in GSM state nomination requirement

The changes in state nomination requirement under the General Skilled Migration (GSM) will be applicable to all applications submitted when the system re-opens. Here are the list of changes applicable:
  • Revised Occupation list
A detailed State Nominated Occupation List (SNOL) has been released for the year 2019/20 withtotal 275 occupations available for the candidates living offshore or in the state of South Australia. The key occupation which feature in the new occupation list are, ICT, Social welfare, STEM, Health, and trade occupations, etc. Also, additional 223 occupations are available on the Supplementary Skilled List (SSL), available to 4 categories of applicants who have shown a strong commitment to South Australia or are high quality applicants.

  • High points
The state of South Australia shall continue to provide a high points pathway to the candidates from a broad list of 498 occupations, with a minimum of 80 points on point test of DHA (Department of Home Affair), Australia (including state nomination points). This particular category enables the State to continue to lure high quality candidates, i.e. the applicants with high levels of English, considerable work experience and higher qualification levels.
  • ICT occupations
The candidates with ICT occupations (having ACS skills assessment) need to have at least 75 points on the Department of Home Affair's points test (including state nomination points). The point's requirement has been raised in view of the huge number of applications received for ICT occupations.
