Express Entry & OID Subcategory of SINP is Open for New Applications

Posted - 02, Jan 2018

Canada’s popular Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), i.e. Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) is open at now to accept the fresh applications for its two key sub-categories, i.e. Occupation In Demand (OID) Sub-category and Express Entry Sub-category. SINP belongs to Saskatchewan–   a key province of Canada. Both these streams of SINP are very popular among the immigrants and hence, get capped quickly after opening. SINP is a key pathway for skilled workers to get permanent residency in Canada.

OID and Express Entry are open with new changes

The Saskatchewan government has recently announced some key changes in both Occupation in Demand (OID) and Express Entry Sub-categories, which are applicable from December 27, 2017. Hence, applicants submitting their applications under both the above streams, need to prepare and submit their application including the latest changes. Here are the key changes announced in both the streams:

  • All the applications received through upcoming application intakes of SINP- Express Entry Sub-Category and OID Sub-categories, need to include the Educational Credential Assessment (ECA) from a designated body with effect from December 27, 2017. The ECA is a document that verifies your qualifications obtained outside Canada.
  • Two key occupations, i.e. NOC 2231 (Civil Engineer Technologists and Technicians) and NOC 2253 (Draft Technologists and Technicians) have been eliminated from the Saskatchewan In-Demand Occupation List e.f. December 27, 2017. The SINP Occupation in Demand list includes the occupations, which are facing skill shortage and hence, are highly in demand across the province of Saskatchewan

Settlement fund requirement for both OID and Express Entry sub-category will also be revised on March 5, 2018 as per the requirement of Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
