Immigrants to be selected as per the labour needs of province
As per the Immigration Minister of the Quebec province, Simon Jolin-Barrette, removal of QSWP backlog is key to the effort of reducing the processing time of the applications as well as streamlining the program criteria in accordance with labour market demands of the province of Quebec. As per him, this step would allow the concerned ministry to better tailor immigration to actual labour needs in the province through the QSWP and cut application processing times from 36 months to six.
