The latest application intake of Quebec Skilled Worker Program (QSWP) got capped on August 16, 2016, after receiving the maximum number of applications (i.e. 5,000 applications). This was the 2nd application intake of QSWP in the year 2016. The first intake too received 5,000 applications in the month of June this year.
Applications intake closed within hours
The QSWP received the applications for CSQ (Quebec Selection Certificate) via its ‘Mon Projet Quebec’ online system. The intake opened on August 16, 2016 at 8:30 a.m. Montreal time, however, closed within few hours time after receiving maximum number of applications, i.e. 5,000.
This latest intake was based on the ‘first come first served’ pattern and hence, the applicants who logged in the Mon Projet Quebec on August 16, 2016 were automatically redirected to a ‘Virtual Waiting Room’. As per the schedule first, 5000 applications were accepted in the system, which were complete and accurate from all aspects. Though, the intake was open till August 22, 2016, however, it reached to the maximum limit in less than 5 hours after opening on August 16.
What was overall cap?
The Quebec government had decided the cap of overall 10,000 applications for the period of April 1, 2016 to March 31, 2017 had been reached. This cap limit was met via two intakes of QSWP in the year 2016. The first intake was in the month of June, 2016 that accepted 5000 applications and the 2nd and latest intake was the current one only that accepted the same number of applications as well to reach the limit of 10,000 overall for year 2016-17.
Who can still apply?
Though, the QSWP intake for the financial year 2016-17 reached to the maximum limit, however, there are a few applicants, who can still apply if they fulfill the conditions below.
