If you are preparing to move to Australia, it’s time to gear up and apply fast as the ‘Occupation Ceiling Value’ (quota of applications) for Skilled Occupation List (SOL) - 2016-17 is going to reach the limit soon.
What is SOL of Australia?
The Skilled Occupation List (SOL) is the list of occupations, which are greatly in demand in Australia in a particular year. It gets released by DIBP (Department of Immigration and Border Protection) every year. The current SOL for 2016-17 was released on July 01, 2016. The listed occupations get capped very soon in view of huge competition for Australian visa.
Why you must apply ASAP for Occupations Listed in SOL?
The SOL occupations are highly in demand occupations in Australia and if your occupation is listed in the Skilled Occupation List, you have a great chance of securing a visa for Australia. The SOL list for 2016-17 launched in the month of July this year and within a month’s time hundreds of applicants have applied for the SOL occupations. Hence, various key occupations in the list are about the reach the maximum limit, i.e. ‘Occupation Ceiling Value’ for 2016-17.
So, if you are planning to move to Australia, apply fast for the Australian visa choosing an occupation from SOL. If you will not apply now, there is a great possibility that your occupation will be capped and you will have to wait for one year, until the new Skilled Occupation List is released.
There is no guarantee whether your Occupation will reflect in the next SOL
An occupation finds its place in the SOL, based on its current demand in Australia, which is assessed every year by DIBP. Sometimes a few other internal factors also decide whether an occupation should stay in SOL for a particular year or not. Since Skilled Occupation List gets updated every year, who knows your occupation will reflect in the SOL of next year, i.e. 2017-18 or not.
Every time the list gets updated, few occupations get removed from the list and few get added as well. Recently, the DIBP has announced to remove the Healthcare associated Occupations from the SOL of 2016-17. Hence, to avoid this situation, don’t delay your decision of migrating to Australia and apply for the visa at earliest.
Stepwise Process to Apply for Visa in Australia based on the SOL Occupations?
You may follow the stepwise process to apply for visa in Australia after choosing an SOL occupation.

If you are looking for a Visa company who is fast, organized and very detailed oriented then you should get in touch with Visas Avenue Pvt. Ltd. Shivangi Arora was my case manager and she has a very good knowledge of the process. She was very prompt and diligent, she made sure that all the documents are provided on time so that the Immigration doesn t ask for anything at a later stage. I am really happy with their work as I have got my Australian PR because of them which is like a dream come true with 50 bands in each module in PTE test. I would definitely recommend them to all my friends and relatives who are looking forward for their visa processing. Keep doing the good job and making lives!!
I have been the client of Visas Avenue from past 1.5 years now and recently received the approval for Permanent Residency (PR) Canada. I must say that they are the finest bunch of dedicated professionals and probably the best in their domain. I visited them after receiving positive feedback from few of my friends & known. And I must say that I found their services exactly the same as I heard from my references.I was especially impressed by the way; my case manager (Ms Ruchika Sharma) went an extra mile whenever I asked her for help at every step, may it be related to the documents required, answering queries, LOI, online procedures, payments, etc.My Case officer & other support executives (Ms. Surbhi) were extremely helpful & professional throughout the visa process. At one point of time post many IELTS attempts I was unable to score CLB 9 & thereafter planned to drop the idea of immigrating to Canada but my case manager: Ms Ruchika Sharma was quite positive to convince me & gave vital advise to apply for Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). In fact, she did it on my behalf and fortunately, I was nominated from the Ontario Province of Canada. It made my road to Canada lot easier as I subsequently, got Invite to apply for Canada PR, which wouldn’t have been possible without the sincere efforts of this hardworking professional team @ Visas Avenue. Thanks for making my wish come true.Best of Luck !!
Visas Avenue had to be the pathway I had to chose to sail through my PR process for Canada. I visited many agencies and with the way my initial queries were satisfactorily handled, I decided to move forward with their help. It has been a long journey and they have been thoroughly helpful and supportive in each and every phase of this process. Special Thanks to Gaurav Sharma - I disturbed him a lot with tons of millions of queries and doubts, but he remained calm, cooperative and fully knowledgeable to help me understand every nitty-gritty of the process. I will not hesitate in recommending Visas Avenue to any of my friends or acquaintances who wishes to apply for Canada PR application. Many Thanks once again Gaurav for your incredible support.
Very Professional Consultancy, which has actual meaningful escalation Matrix system for customers too. Without them I won t have been able to get PR simply because they put lots of effort for my PNP nomination. Special mentions to Mrigya Shah & Arpita Saha for their knowledgeable support, professional communication, support and efforts. Thanks a lot.
