Ontario Resumes Provincial Nomination Draws- Issues Over 3,700 Invitations

After a four-month hiatus, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) recommenced its Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draws on June 3rd. The province conducted ten targeted draws, extending massive 3,719 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for provincial nomination across various streams.

The invitations were primarily issued under the OINP's Employer Job Offer streams, encompassing the Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills categories. All considered profiles were created between June 3, 2024, and June 3, 2025.

  • 411 ITAs were issued to candidates in the Expression of Interest system pool potentially qualifying for the REDI pilot, residing in Canada. The REDI pilot offers a permanent residence pathway for skilled foreign workers with job offers in specific Ontario communities.
  • A limited 5 ITAs were issued to candidates with job offers under NOC code 41321 (Career development practitioners and career counsellors, except education).
  • Eligibility for this stream requires a job offer in a skilled occupation (TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupation Classification - NOC) for foreign workers wishing to live and work in Ontario.

  • 1,350 ITAs were issued to candidates in health occupations who are currently residing in Canada and met the minimum score of 68. Eligible NOC codes include various medical and nursing professions (e.g., Specialists in surgery, Registered nurses, Nurse practitioners, Home support workers).
  • 334 ITAs were issued to individuals with job offers in Eastern Ontario, currently residing in Canada with a Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 493 ITAs were issued to individuals with job offers in Northern Ontario, currently residing in Canada with a Bachelor's degree or higher.
  • 363 ITAs were issued to candidates in the Expression of Interest system pool potentially qualifying for the REDI pilot, residing in Canada.
  • This stream provides a pathway to permanent residence for international students with job offers in skilled occupations (TEER category 0, 1, 2, or 3) and a credential from an eligible Canadian institution. Work experience is not a mandatory requirement for this stream.

Impact of Reduced Nomination Allocation:

These draws come shortly after the OINP confirmed a 50% reduction in its 2025 nomination allocation, bringing the total down to 10,750 slots. The provincial government has advised foreign nationals to anticipate longer processing times due to this reduced allocation.
