Ontario has invited nearly 12,000 Express Entry candidates this year – Lowest CRS score 266 points

Ontario has one of the most active Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) of Canada, i.e. Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP). In 2022, the OINP has issued 11,961 NOIs (Notifications of Interest) to apply for provincial nomination until date to the Express Entry candidates.

This is significant number considering the invitation issued by federal Express Entry System this year until date (i.e. 28,038) under its below three categories:

  • FSW (Federal Skilled Worker)
  • FST (Federal Skilled Trades).
  • CEC (Canadian Experience Class)

Ontario PNP ITAs in 2022

This year, Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) conducted regular draws to invite 11,961 Express Entry candidates to apply for the provincial nomination for Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa. The low CRS score requirement in the OINP draws helped in significant number of ITAs issued this year by OINP.

Low CRS score requirement compare to Express Entry System

The CRS score requirement is relatively low in Ontario PNP draws compare to federal Express Entry System draws.

  • The lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement in any Ontario PNP was 266 CRS points or above in 29 September draw for Skilled Trades stream.
  • The lowest CRS score requirement for French-speaking Skilled Worker stream was 326 points in 23 September now.
  • For Express Entry- HCP (Human Capital Priorities) stream of Ontario PNP, the lowest Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score requirement was 455 points in 22 February draw.

NOIs issued in 2022 to date

  • Human Capital Priorities stream – 3,076
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker stream – 1,379
  • Skilled Trades stream – 7,506

If you wish to apply for Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa then Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is a perfect alternate pathway to Express Entry System.

The provincial nomination obtained through Ontario PNP enable you to get 600 additional CRS points, which in turn helps you get Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian PR (Permanent Resident) Visa from IRCC (Immigration Refugees, and Citizenship Canada).
