Manitoba PNP has updated the process for skilled worker requests

Manitoba PNP has announced new process for skilled worker requests. The Skilled Worker Stream is one of the most popular streams of Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP). This particular MPNP stream is locally driven and depends on the requirements of Manitoba employers. 

The MPNP choose globally trained and seasoned workers with skills required by the local labour market, and nominate them to get Canadian permanent resident visas to work and settle in Manitoba.

New Process for skilled worker requests

Skilled Worker stream has two key pathways, i.e.

• Skilled Worker in Manitoba (SWM) and
• Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO).

With effect from June 13, 2023, the Manitoba PNP has updated the process for skilled workers to,

• inform the MPNP about your intention to change employers,
• request a work permit support letter,
• request a nomination certificate extension, and
• inform the MPNP about changes to your Express Entry profile.

All requests need to be submitted using the new Skilled Worker Webform. The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) is committed to processing all requests received through the webform within ten business days. However, processing period may increase in case of incomplete requests received.

Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)

The Manitoba PNP offers three streams, with their separate pathways, through which one can move to the province of Manitoba and become a permanent resident of the maple leaf country.

The Skilled Worker Overseas (SWO) stream nominates candidates who show an well-known connection to Manitoba via:

• the support of family members or friends;
• past education or work experience in the province; or
• an ITA received directly from the MPNP as part of a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.

Manitoba hold regular draws of Manitoba PNP to issue Letters of Advice (LAAs) to apply for provincial nomination to the suitable candidates. The most recent draw of Manitoba PNP took place on 15 June 2023.
