Manitoba Invites Skilled Worker Candidates from Overseas in Latest MPNP Draw

In an immigration draw held on May 15, 2025, Manitoba's Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) issued 62 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) to skilled workers overseas. This invitation under the Skilled Worker Overseas stream offers a significant pathway for these candidates to achieve Canadian permanent residency.

Manitoba Skilled Workers Overseas stream invitations

To effectively meet its labor market needs, Manitoba actively recruits skilled workers internationally. The MPNP draw on May 15th exemplified this by prioritizing candidates who received direct invitations through the province's strategic recruitment efforts.

Important Considerations for Skilled Worker Overseas EOIs

Here are key points to understand regarding Expressions of Interest (EOIs) for the Skilled Worker Overseas stream under the MPNP:

  • Direct Invitation is Mandatory: Only candidates who have been directly invited by the MPNP through a strategic recruitment initiative are considered in the draws. Unsolicited EOIs are not eligible.
  • Language Test Details are Crucial: If you claimed language proficiency based on a third-party test, ensure you have provided a valid test number in your EOI and that your test results are still valid. Failure to do so may prevent you from receiving a Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA), even if your score is above the cut-off.
  • Invitation Number for Strategic Recruitment: If you indicated receiving an Invitation to Apply under a strategic recruitment initiative, you must provide a valid invitation number in your EOI. Missing or incorrect information will disqualify you from receiving an LAA.
  • Utilize EOI Help Text: For every question in the EOI, detailed help text is available. Review this information carefully to ensure you are providing accurate and complete details. Updating your EOI with correct information may make you eligible for future draws.
  • Regulated Occupations and Licensing: Candidates selected in this draw who indicated they work in a regulated occupation must be fully licensed to work in Manitoba. The MPNP reserves the right to refuse applications from individuals who are not currently working in the declared regulated occupation and/or cannot provide proof of completing all necessary licensing steps for employment in Manitoba. If this applies to you, you may want to consider declining the LAA.
