2nd Express Entry draw opened in just two days- CRS score Reduced to lowest of the year
Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has surprised the candidates yet again by opening 2 back to back Express entry draws in two days. Last week IRCC opened two draws on same date, i.e. on 9th April, however, this time around it held two program specific draws back to back on 15th and 16th April.
The latest draw opened on April 16, 2020 is for the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. In another surprise, the CRS score requirement or cut off dropped to the lowest of the year. Let's find out more details about this latest EE draw.
EE draw Opened on 16th April for CEC
Find below the results of the latest draw of Federal EE system, opened for CEC candidates:
- The draw is open: The current express entry draw is open from April 16, 2020 to April 17, 2020.
- CRS score requirement: The CRS score requirement or qualifying marks in the draw is 455 CRS points or above
- Number of Invitations to be issued: The IRCC to issue a total of 3,782 Canada PR invitations during the draw.
- Tie-breaking rule:January 20, 2020 at 17:37:33 UTC
All invited candidates in this draw will have to submit their Canada PR application along with essential documents to IRCC within the specified period.
Analysis of the 16th April Draw for CEC
This draw is dedicated to the candidates registered under Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The CEC is one of the three main categories of Express Entry system along with FSW (Federal Skilled worker) and FST (Federal Skilled Trades). A CEC candidate is the one, who have at minimum year of full-time, skilled work experience, completed in Canada within the previous 3 years.
Now, Canada has
invited total 30,400 candidates in overall 11 Express Entry draws held in 2020. Looking at the regularity of EE draws despite Covid-19 disruption, Express Entry system is likely to achieve its annual immigration target of inviting
91,800 candidates in 2020.
