Latest Express Entry draw for Transport Occupations invited 975 candidates

On March 13, 2024, Canadian immigration department opened the latest category-based Express Entry draw for Transport occupations (2024-1). This draw invited 975 candidates to apply for Canadian PR Visa who had the experience in the transport occupations. This was second EE draw this month and 11th Draw this year until date. In this category-based draw, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 975 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa, who had the CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of 430 points or higher.

EE Draw Analysis

Now, after this new immigration draw of federal Express Entry System,  this year, Canada has invited total 23,215 candidates to apply for Canadian PR visa in overall 11 EE draws held until date. 

As was expected, the CUT OFF dropped significantly in this draw to just 430 points, this draw being a category-based draw. Hence, the applicants proficient in French or having experience in the high demand occupations chosen for category-based selection, have great chance of getting Canada PR invitation this year.  

Categories for category-based selections in 2024

Canada has retained same categories for Category-based Express Entry draws this year, which were used in 2023. The categories retained for 2024 are:

• A strong French language proficiency or
• Work experience in one of the below fields:
  • healthcare
  • science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) professions
  • trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
  • transport
  • agriculture and Agri-food
