June 2021 Express Entry Draw- Will it be another Program-specific Draw?

Express Entry draws always remain talk of the town among the aspirants of Canadian Permanent Residence (PR) visa. Every year thousands of skilled workers register on federal Express Entry System, however, not all get the ITA (Invitation to apply) for Canadian PR visa from Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).

As far as year 2021 is concerned, the IRCC has dedicated all its EE draws to Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

Program-Specific EE draws in 2021

In overall 20 program-specific Express Entry draws opened in 2021 until May 2021, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued massive 74,773 ITAs (Invitations to Apply) for Canadian PR visa this year. It is the first time in the history of Express Entry system; the IRCC has opened so many back-to-back program-specific draws in a year.

Exceptional EE draw trend

Canada's immigration numbers in 2021 are incredible considering the global pandemic situation across the globe. Canadian government is surely setting example to the world in terms of lenient immigration policy. Now, considering the Express Entry draw trend this year, it seems likely that the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) continue to hold program-specific draws in next few weeks.

Hence, the Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category candidates have to either wait for an all-program draw, or opt to get the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) Visa in one of the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) or Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) category draws.

PNP Pathway to obtain the ITA

Obtaining the ITA through CEC category draw is not possible unless you have a Canadian work experience. Although, you can surely choose to apply to a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) and win the provincial nomination for Canadian PR visa.A few good PNPs to get the provincial nomination are:

  • Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program
  • Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program
  • Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program
  • Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP)
  • Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP)
  • PEI PNP (Prince Edwards Island Provincial Nominee Program), etc.

If you become successful in obtaining the provincial nomination, you will get 600 additional CRS points in your Express Entry account.Hence, this will be your best chance to win the ITA despite no FSW category draw happening these days.

How to apply in a PNP?

Every Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) has a different process and requirements. Hence, you need to first check your eligibility and accordingly apply in the relevant PNP stream.
