Get PR in Western Australia- New Skilled Occupation List of the State released

This is good time to apply for PR visa in Western Australia as the key Australian state has released the new occupation list, i.e. Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL). The state government release this high demand occupation list every year to invite the applications for the state nominations.

The Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) includes the occupations, which are greatly in demand across the state of Western Australia. The local government seeks release this list to find suitable skilled worker from overseas, which can apply for nomination and subsequently, apply for the relevant visa categories to find temporary or permanent visa in the state.

However, finding occupation in WASMOL does not guarantee any job, it just confirms that you are eligible for state nomination, once you meet the criteria for the same.

Who is eligible to Apply for WA nomination?

The people, who find their occupation in the Western Australian Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL) and fulfill the nomination criteria, can apply for the nomination to WA. Below are the visa categories, you can apply for, if your occupation reflects in WASMOL:

  • Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190)- It is a permanent Visa
  • Skilled Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 489) - It is a temporary visa for up to four years.

Both the above visa categories are part of General Skilled Migration (GSM) Program of Australia, which assess and select the profiles of the applicant based on the points they score for their profile factors. Minimum point an applicant need to score are 60. However, to secure Invitation to Apply (ITA) for desired visa, i.e. (Subclass 190 Visa or Subclass 489 Visa), you must try to score points beyond the minimum required points.

What is the process to apply?

The first state would be to submit nomination application to Western Australia. Once you receive the nomination for the desired visa category, you submit the EOI (Expression of Interest) for the same through SkillSelect System of processing immigration EOIs.

In SkillSelect, your profile will be reviewed based on the points you score for your age, education, work experience, language skills, etc. parameters. If you are selected based on your point sore, you will get Invitation to apply for your desired visa in Australia, you need to apply for the same within 60 days attaching all the essential documents.
