First Express Entry Draw of 2021 opens for PNP Candidates

The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has opened the first Express Entry draw of this New Year on January 6, 2021. However, the IRCC has opened this draw only for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates and not for all-programs, i.e. FSW, etc. This is the reason that the number of invitations is low and CRS score is higher than the usual.

Since this draw is for PNP candidates (having 600 points of PNP nomination), hence the CRS score requirement is 813 points.

Last year, Express Entry had invited 107,350 candidates to apply for Canada Permanent Residence (PR) visa, which is a new record for the EE invitations in any year. The EE system also surpassed the annual invitation target for 2020, which was 91,800.

Hence, the EE candidates as well as the experts are quite positive about the EE draw results in the year 2021. This year IRCC will invite 403,000 candidates, out of which, 108,500 candidates will be invited under the three categories of EE system, i.e.

• Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
• Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
• Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
