Will the CRS score requirement from IRCC further drop in Next Express Entry Draw?

By Rajneesh Kumar Posted 24, Aug 2019

visas default image The last express entry draw opened by IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) was a pleasant surprise for the express entry applicants in many ways. Firstly, the draw was launched quite early on 20th August 2019, i.e. just 8 days after the previous draw. Such an early draw opened by IRCC after a long time. The second fascinating thing for the applicants was the surprise reduction in the CRS Score requirement from IRCC. The IRCC after keeping the cut off on a higher side for long, finally dropped the point's requirement to the low of last seven draws, i.e. 457 CRS points.

What is the expectations from the next EE draw?

It's not easy to predict the CRS score in the next express entry draw considering the trend of the CRS score requirement from IRCC has been a mixed bag till now. The third draw of the year went to the lowest mark of the year, i.e. 438 points, which really raised the hope of the applicants. However, since then it never came below 450 mark in any of the regular draws of Express Entry meant for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category. Express Entry cut off marks in August 2019

EE pool status

As per the Express entry pool status on August 15, 2019, there were 7,165 candidates in the EE Pool with CRS score 451 or above. Now, the 20th August draw invited 3,600 candidates with CRS score 457 point, which means there will be enough candidates in the pool with CRS score 451 or above to get invited in the next draw.

Hence, IRCC won't require to drop down the cut off below this mark in the next draw. Moreover, there will be more candidates registering in the system till next Express entry draw occurs. However, the next EE draw is expected to be a little late considering the previous draw opened early.
