The details regarding the Global Talent Stream (GTS) for Temporary Foreign Workers Program (TFWP) have now been revealed by the Canadian government. One among the key proposals of GTS is the processing time of two weeks for the applications received for work permit (and temporary resident visas) in Canada. Let’s know more about the upcoming Global Talent Stream.
New Global Talent StreamThe Canadian government has planned to launch the Global Talent Stream from June 12, 2017 as part of their Global Skills Strategy. The Global Skill Strategy has an objective to support the creative firms to flourish along with creating the middle-class jobs and helping the economic growth in the country. Hence, the Global Skills Strategy of Canada is not only going to benefit the technology and other industries in Canada, but also the Canadian immigration aspirants all across the world, willing to live and work in Canada on work permit or work visas.
Hiring highly-skilled foreign workers will be fast and efficient under GTSOnce the GTS gets implemented the Canadian organizations will be able to hire the talented skilled workers from overseas in an organized and fast manner. At now the two weeks visa processing time is in the proposal. A high demand occupation list, i.e. Global Talent List is being prepared at now in coordination with labour market experts and other professionals, which will be published before the launch of Global Talent Stream after next couple of months. The technology industry of Canada is expected to reap the maximum benefits out of the new Global Talent Stream. It will help the tech firms to hire the talented professionals and workers from overseas more quickly and efficiently to compete with the global organizations, says Benjamin Bergen, ED of the CCI (Council of the Canadian Innovators). The Innovators have praised the two week processing time for the application received for work permit and other steps taken by the government to make the processing smooth and trouble free and to help the tech sector of the country.
Other Key Proposals under Global Skill StrategyApart from the processing time of two weeks for a few work permit applications, the federal government of Canada has also got some additional plans in their kitty. The government plans to form a specific service for the organizations wish to do considerable investment in job creation in the country. The government also plans to issue the short term visa (i.e. 30 days) to work in Canada without work permit, as part of key proposals under Global Skill Strategy.
