The much awaited 21st draw of Express entry this year finally launched to issue the invitations to the Canadian PR candidates. The draw will pick those candidates from express entry pool, who are able achieve the Qualifying marks (CRS score requirement) announced for the current draw. So, let’s find out the Qualifying marks and other key details of 21st Express Entry draw this year.

Key Statistics of Express Entry Draw No. 21

Here are the key statistics of the 21st draw of EE system:
  • The draw is open from October 12, 2016 to October 13, 2016
  • The qualifying marks or CRS score requirement for the draw is 484 points or more.
  • The IRCC will invite a total of 1518 candidates during the current EE Draw.

As the present draw was much awaited, let’s get in to a brief analysis to find out as to what it has brought for the express entry applicants.

List of Express Entry Draws Canada 2015-16

Analysis of 21st Draw of Express entry in 2016

The current draw was being awaited for a long, as it was not announced on the expected date. Usually, the express entry draws are launched on fortnightly basis and hence, the 21st draw was expected to release on October 6, 2016. However, eager applicants had to wait for a long, as it got delayed by almost a week and launched on October 12, 2016.

Expectations were high from the applicants

In view of the fall in qualifying marks in last draw of express entry, the applicants had very high hope from the present draw. Many of the candidates were expecting the CRS Score requirement to fall, and as result they were fancying their chances for ITA (invitation to apply) for Canadian PR Visa. The other reason for expecting low qualifying marks was last quarter of 2016 in progress. There was a buzz that IRCC (Immigration Refugee and Citizenship Canada) may reduce the CRS Score requirement in order to meet their annually immigration target in the last quarter of 2016.

However, the draw results have not brought wonders for the applicants as the CRS Score requirement remained almost the same, i.e. 484 points. It was 483 points in the last EE Draw. Though, number of invites increased to 1518 despite no significant change in qualifying marks. The applicants with low qualifying marks may get a bit disheartened with the results as their wait has further extended.

What the candidates with low qualifying marks must do?

Well, if you are a Canada PR aspirant with relatively low qualifying marks, you should not get disappointed and keep your hopes high for the next draw. The other key thing you must do is look out for the other immigration program apart from express entry to boost your chances of securing a PR visa.

For instance the OINP (Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program) is likely to open next month to accept fresh applications. The OINP only asks for 400 CRS points to select candidates for its skilled worker stream. If you have received a nomination from OINP, it will make your chances of obtaining PR visa for Canada almost certain.
