Canada Express Entry Draw: IRCC Invites 2,000 CEC Candidates at CRS 519

Canada has conducted another major Express Entry draw, giving 2,000 candidates with Canadian work experience an opportunity to move closer to permanent residence.

On September 15, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 2,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw.

The minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score required in the latest draw was 519.

The latest result will be encouraging for many candidates currently in the Express Entry pool, particularly because the CEC cut-off has moved down from the previous draw.

CRS Drops from 521 to 519

The previous Canadian Experience Class draw was held on September 1, 2026, when IRCC invited 2,000 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 521.

With today's cut-off at 519, the CRS requirement has fallen by two points in just two weeks.

While a two-point movement may appear small, even a slight reduction can make a significant difference for candidates who have been waiting close to recent cut-off levels.

The recent CEC results have been:

• September 15: 2,000 ITAs – CRS 519

• September 1: 2,000 ITAs – CRS 521

• August 18: 1,000 ITAs – CRS 523

• August 5: 3,000 ITAs – CRS 516

The results show that CEC cut-offs continue to fluctuate, making it important for candidates to keep their Express Entry profiles active and updated.

Back-to-Back Express Entry Draws

The September 15 invitation round comes just one day after IRCC conducted a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw on September 14.

In that draw, Canada invited 576 provincial nominees, with the lowest-ranked candidate having a CRS score of 734.

This means IRCC has now conducted Express Entry draws on two consecutive days, first targeting provincial nominees and then candidates under the Canadian Experience Class.

September has already been an active month for Express Entry.

Earlier this month, IRCC also conducted draws targeting Healthcare and Social Services occupations and Physicians with Canadian Work Experience.

Why Is the Latest CEC Draw Important?

The Canadian Experience Class remains an important pathway for skilled professionals who have already gained qualifying work experience in Canada.

Rather than competing against every candidate in the Express Entry pool, CEC-specific rounds consider candidates eligible under this particular program.

The latest draw also reinforces the importance of Canadian work experience within Canada's current Express Entry selection pattern.

For candidates sitting close to the recent CRS range, the fall from 521 to 519 is a positive development. However, applicants should remember that there is no guaranteed CRS score for the next draw.

IRCC determines the type of invitation round and the number of candidates to invite, and the resulting CRS cut-off depends on the candidates eligible for that particular round.

What Should Express Entry Candidates Do Now?

If your CRS score is below the latest cut-off, waiting for the score to fall should not be your only strategy.
