Canada Express Entry Draw: 250 Senior Managers Invited at CRS 389

Canada has opened another targeted route to permanent residence, this time focusing on experienced senior managers who have worked in the country.

Canada has opened another targeted route to permanent residence, this time focusing on experienced senior managers who have worked in the country.

In the Express Entry draw held on September 16, 2026, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 250 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) to candidates under the Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience category.

The lowest CRS score invited was 389.

September 16 Express Entry Draw at a Glance

Category: Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience
ITAs issued: 250
CRS cut-off: 389
Rank required: 250 or above
Tie-breaking rule: September 1, 2026 at 23:05:13 UTC

The result is encouraging for senior professionals who have already gained valuable work experience in Canada and are looking to make the country their permanent home.

Unlike general Express Entry rounds, targeted draws allow IRCC to invite candidates based on specific skills and experience needed in Canada. This means CRS scores cannot always be compared directly across different types of draws.

For candidates working in senior management positions, the latest round is also a reminder to keep their Express Entry profile current. Work experience, NOC selection, language test results, education and other profile information should accurately reflect the candidate's present circumstances.

A CRS score of 389 by itself does not mean that every Express Entry candidate with the same or a higher score would have received an invitation. Candidates also needed to meet the requirements of this particular category and the applicable Express Entry program.

With IRCC continuing to conduct targeted invitation rounds, candidates should follow upcoming Express Entry developments closely rather than relying only on CRS trends from general or other category-based draws.
