Canada Aims to welcome nearly 1.5 million immigrants by the end of 2025

Canadian government every year release its immigration plan to setup the immigration target for next three years for different categories, i.e. economic, family, Refugees and Protected Persons, Humanitarian & Compassionate and Other. Canada Immigration Levels Plan 2023-25

In 2021, Canada invited record 405,000 new permanent resident and in upcoming years, the IRCC is likely to create more records that are new.

Canada plans to welcome 465,000 new permanent residents in 2023, 485,000 in 2024 and 500,000 in 2025. Overall, in next three years (i.e. by the end of 2025), Canadian government will admit 14,50,000 new immigrants under various immigration categories.

2023 Target for different categories

In 2023, the Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) will invite total 465,000 candidates under different categories.

• Most number of candidates (i.e. 266, 210) will get admission under Economic immigration programs, i.e. federal Express Entry System, Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP), etc.
• Under family sponsorship programs, IRCC will welcome 106,500 new permanent residents
• Canada will admit 76,305 people under Refugees and protected person category.
• Moreover, 15,985 admissions will be done under Humanitarian & Compassionate and Other categories

Economic Immigration Target 2023

Canada invites most number of candidates under economic immigration categories.

• Under economic immigration, most number of candidates will get admission under Provincial Nominee Programs (i.e. 105,500) in 2023,
• Express Entry system (i.e. FSW, FST, CEC) will admit total 82,880 new permanent residents in 2023
• Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and economic pilots will welcome 8,500 candidates separately.
• Federal Business category, i.e. Start-up visa and Self-employed persons program will get 3,500 admissions
