visas default image If you are looking to immigrate to Canada through a PNP (provincial nominee program), you must consider applying in BCPNP this year. The BCPNP (British Columbia Immigrant Nominee Program) is the immigration program of British Columbia province of Canada. This Provincial Nominee program is expected to decrease its qualifying marks in coming round of invitation to meet the annual immigration target. The BCPNP offers the nominations for permanent residency to the selected candidates under newly launched SIRS system.

BCPNP launched SIRS in January 2016

The BCPNP launched a new registration system i.e. SIRS (Skills Immigration Registration System) in the month of January this year to process the nomination applications received from the BCPNP applicants. It is the EOI (Expression of Interest) based system more like Express Entry, which allocates points to the candidates and runs periodic draws to choose the candidates with best score.

Below are the key categories of SIRS system:

  • Skills Immigration – Skilled Worker
  • Skills Immigration – International Graduate
  • Express Entry B.C. – Skilled Worker
  • Express Entry B.C. – International Graduate
  • Skills Immigration – Northeast Pilot Project
  • Skills Immigration – Entry Level and Semi-Skilled
BCPNP may decrease Qualifying marks- Opportunity for Canada Immigration Applicants

In last two rounds of invitations, only 364 invitations have been issued by BCPNP under SIRS up to now. Hence, in order to meet the annual immigration target of 5500, BCPNP may decrease the qualifying marks and invite more candidates. It is a great opportunity for the Canadian PR aspirants to register their profile in online SIRS system and apply in the BCPNP for nomination. The low qualifying marks will certainly increase the chances of securing the nomination. A candidate can apply to IRCC for permanent residency in British Columbia, Canada on the basis of nomination received from BCPNP.

How to Apply in BCPNP via SIRS System?

A skilled immigrant looking to apply in BCPNP has to register on SIRS system. You need to submit online EOI in the new SIRS system and your profile will be given a set score based on the key factors, i.e. education, work experience, language proficiency, etc. However, you can register only for one category. The registration on SIRS is absolutely free, however, your profile only remain valid for 12 months. The BCPNP sends the nomination invites to the candidates with high score via its periodic round of invitations.
