Australia to invite increased number of Skilled Workers in 2022-23- Apply for visa now

Australia Migration Program planning levels 2022-23

In the last program year, i.e. 2022-21, Australia kept 79,600 visa places for skilled visa streams, however, now as per Australia’s Migration Program planning levels (2022-23), Australia will accept 109,900 new immigrants under Skilled visa categories, i.e. skilled independent visa, Skilled nominated visa, Regional visa, etc. Hence, it’s a significant rise of more than 30,000 visa places this year for skilled visa categories.

Rise in General Skilled Migration Program (GSM) Visa places this year

The General Skilled Migration Program (GSM) of Australia has three main visa categories, i.e.

• Skilled Independent Visa Subclass 189
• Skilled Nominated Visa Subclass 190
• Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa Subclass 491

In this program year, Australia will accept will accept 16,552 candidates under Skilled Independent category visa. Moreover, 20,000 candidates will get invitation under State/Territory Nominated visa categories. The Regional Visa candidates will get highest, i.e. 25,000 admissions among all GSM category visas.

Other Visa place allocations this year

Australia has also allocated 50,000 visa places for family stream and 100 places for special eligibility stream. Overall, Department of Home Affairs (DHA), Australia will invite 160,000 new immigrants this year in all categories.
