The IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has launched 8 express entry draws this year, however, the applicants are still waiting for some considerable reduction in the qualifying marks or CRS score requirement from IRCC. Although, IRCC make marginal reduction in the cut off marks off late, however, it was not enough to please the applicants with low CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) Score.

Hence, all eyes are on the forthcoming express entry draws of the year 2018. The applicants with low CRS score are hoping that IRCC will favour them while announcing cut off marks in the upcoming draws of federal express entry system.

CRS score Requirement this year

Unlike last year, the IRCC hasn't made any significant decrease in the CRS score requirement this year. The cut off marks have remained in mid 440s most of the time this year. The main reason for the same can be the huge number of new registrations in express entry this year.

Encouraged by the last year Express Entry Draw results and lenient immigration rule changes by the Canadian government, a huge number of Canada PR aspirants registered their profile in express entry system every month. This restricted the government to reduce qualifying marks, as they are already able to invite over 3,000 candidates every draw, without making any big reduction in the Cut off marks. But this pattern of express entry draw results is unlikely to continue for long. Hence, in upcoming draws, we may see the considerable fall in the qualifying marks from IRCC.

Expectations from 9th Draw of Federal Express Entry System

The 9th Express Entry draw is eagerly awaited by the express entry registered applicants. All applicants with CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) Score in mid 430s or below are expecting the favour from fortune this time around. However, looking at the express entry draw trends till now, there is something to cheer about for the candidates.

CRS Points Table 2018

In last four Express Entry draws, the cut off marks or CRS score requirement from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has shown a declining pattern. The CRS score requirement in last four draws from IRCC has been456, 446, 444, and 441, which is a clear indication of consistent fall in the qualifying marks. If it continues the same way, we may expect considerable reduction in the same in the next few EE draws.

What you need to do as Canada PR aspirant waiting for ITA

As discussed already, IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) may make some points reduction in the CRS score requirement. However, if your CRS Score is low, you cannot sit idle and wait for the things to turn in your favour automatically. Just explore your alternate options and pathways to obtain permanent residency in 2018.

You can try a number of things, i.e. try to enhance your IELTS score and subsequently, the CRS Scoreby sitting in the test gain. You can also explore the different Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs) to obtain nomination for Canada PR and consequently the additional CRS points.
