The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) yet again surprised the candidates by opening the 19th Express Entry draw of the year within a week of previous draw (18th draw launched on August 2). IRCC launched the 19th draw on August 9, 2017 to issue ITA (Invitations to Apply) for Canada PR to the selected candidates (who will achieve the cut off marks) in the express entry pool.

Lets take a look at the key features of the current EE draw launched by IRCC.

19th Express Entry Draw of 2017

Here are the key statistics of the draw:
  • Draw is open- The draw is open from August 9, 2017 to August 10, 2017
  • CRS Score requirement- The Qualifying Marks are 433 points or more
  • Number of Invitations- The IRCC will issue 2,991 Invitations for Canada PR during the draw.

The draw has been a pleasant surprise for the thousands of applicants registered in the federal express entry system.

Early Express Entry Draw- A Pleasant Surprise for the Applicants

The IRCC was following a trend of one draw per month for last couple of months. Hence, the most of the express entry applicants were circumspect about the 2nd draw launch timing in the month of August 2017. This trend from IRCC was not usually as since the launch of Express Entry System, IRCC had been following the fortnightly draw trend for EE draws.

However, IRCC sidelined all the speculations concerning draw open timing and launched the 2nd draw of the August month, within a week of the first draw (18th draw of 2017).

Reduction in Qualifying Marks is good news Yet Again

The year started on a positive note by the IRCC by reducing qualifying marks significantly and inviting over 3,500 candidates in every draw. However, after the completion of first half of the year, it increased the CRS score requirement again and stabled the same in the following draws. The 19th Draw of the year brought good news yet again as IRCC reduced the qualifying marks yet again to 433 points with a decrease of 8 points. This significant reduction ensured that close to 3,000 applicants become eligible to receive the ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canadian PR visa from Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
