Unexpected rise in the qualifying marks or CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) Score requirement from IRCC surprised most applicants in the last express entry draw held on June 13, 2018. In this draw the CRS score requirement from IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) raised significantly to 451 CRS points. It increased by 11 points compared to last draw (occurred on May 23) on for Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) category of Express entry.

Increase in CRS score requirement was Surprising

The rise in qualifying marks, was surprising for the candidates in express entry as well as the experts, considering the draw took place on 30th May 2018 for PNP category and FST. The candidates in particular were expecting the fall in qualifying marks considering the PNP candidates already invited in last draw.

However, proving all experts wrong, IRCC increased the CRS score requirement. It shows that the number of express entry candidates who applied recently in express entry system are more than the PNP candidates (candidates having provincial nomination) invited last time around. This is the reason that IRCC increased the CRS score requirement instead of reducing the same.

Contradictory pattern compared to last year

Well, speculations and predictions have become difficult at this juncture, when unexpected patterns are being followed by the IRCC. This year's express entry draw results are just contradictory to what happened last year. Last year, the qualifying marks fall drastically and reached its lowest mark, i.e. 413 CRS points.

ITA Till 11th Draw

Perhaps, such drastic fall only encouraged the immigration aspirantsall over the world to apply for Canadian permanent residency. Hence, this year, huge number of express entry candidates are applying in the federal express entry system which is possibly not allowing the qualifying marks to come down.

What are the expectations from upcoming EE draw?

In the upcoming draw of federal express entry system, any drastic change is not expected. We may expect a fall in the CRS score requirement, but looking at the trend this year, it is unlikely that the qualifying marks will fall by a huge margin. The decrease might be of only few point this time around.

What you must do as an aspirant and applicant of Canadian visa?

Well, if you aspire to get Canadian PR Visa this year, you must not depend on the Express Entry System only. Express Entry demand high immigration points or CRS score, hence, in such a situation, you may look out for alternate Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

The provincial nominee programs are the separate immigration programs of the Canadian provinces, through which, they invite the suitable skilled workers and professionals and subsequently, nominate the selected once for Canadian permanent residency.

How PNP can helps you obtain Canada PR?

The provincial nomination either make you eligible to apply direct PR for Canada or allocate you 600 additional points (via express entry aligned stream) in express entry, which seals your ITA (Invitation to Apply) for Canada PR from IRCC. Hence, a PNP makes your pathway easier to obtain PR visa in Canada.
