Western Australia State Nominated Migration Program

About the WA State Nominated Migration Program

The Western Australia State Nominated Migration Program (SNMP) enables the WA State Government to nominate skilled migrants to meet labour market needs across key industries.

Eligible applicants may be nominated for:

  • Skilled Nominated Visa (Subclass 190)– Permanent Residence
  • Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 491)– Regional pathway to PR

State nomination provides additional points under the General Skilled Migration (GSM) points test and improves the likelihood of receiving a visa invitation.

Migration Streams

1. General Stream

For skilled workers with relevant experience in occupations listed on the WA Skilled Migration Occupation List (WASMOL):

  • Schedule 1– Higher priority occupations
  • Schedule 2– Occupations with specific eligibility conditions

2. Graduate Stream

For international graduates who have completed eligible qualifications in Western Australia and meet Graduate Stream study requirements.

Eligible Visa Subclasses

  • Subclass 190– Skilled Nominated (Permanent)
  • Subclass 491– Skilled Work Regional (Provisional)

Applicants must meet all Department of Home Affairs requirements for the chosen visa subclass.
