Victoria is now accepting applications for Subclass 188 Visa Investor & Significant Investor streams

Australian state Victoria has now opened the provisional Investor stream (188B) and provisional Significant Investor stream (188C) visa nomination programs for the program year 2021-22. The investor visa is for those high net-worth individuals, who wish to make investment in Australia and maintain business and/or investment activity in Victoria. This nomination program has opened with some changes. Find below more details.

Victoria’s Investor nomination program changes 2021

The key changes to the state nomination program 2021-22 are as follows:

Investor (188B)

• Complying investments of A$2.5million (held for the duration of the provisional visa)
• Minimum SkillSelect points score of 80
• No additional investments required 
• No need to invest in Designated Investment Bonds
• All complying Venture Capital and Private Growth Equity funds (VCPE) investments must be made into Victorian based funds.

Significant Investor (188C)

• Updated Complying Investment Framework for complying investments of A$5 million (held for the duration of the provisional visa)
• All complying Venture Capital and Private Growth Equity funds (VCPE) investments must be made into Victorian based funds.

In case you have received the Victorian government nomination for an Investor or Significant Investor visa before July 1, 2021, these changes will not affect you.

Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – Investor stream

This provisional visa is for the high net-worth people, who wish to invest minimum A$2.5 million into complying investments in Australia and sustain business and/or investment activity in the state of Victoria. This visa allows you to stay in Australia for up to 5 years. You can also apply for permanent residence visa after being in Australia on this visa for 3 years.

Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188) – Significant Investor stream

This particular provisional visa is for high net-worth individuals, who wish to invest minimum A$5 million into complying investments in Australia and want to maintain business and/or investment activity in Victoria. This visa allows you to live in Australia for up to 5 years. After 3 years, you can apply for permanent residence.
