Saskatchewan to use New Occupation System NOC -2021 for SINP from 16 November

Canadian province Saskatchewan to use new National Occupation Classification System (dated 2021) for its PNP, i.e. Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) with effect from November 16, 2022. The IRCC (Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada) has already announced last year that it will implement new NOC 2021 system for federal Express Entry System from November 2022.

New NOC -2021 Classification system for SINP

After the introduction of new National Occupation Classification System (dated 2021) back in 2021, not just federal, but provincial governments have also shown interest in implementing the same in their respective immigration programs. The IRCC has already announced its implementation month (i.e. November 2022) last year.

Moreover, recently, Ontario government has also recommended the implementation of new NOC system in the proposed amendments to Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP).

Now, Saskatchewan has joined the list of immigration programs, which will soon adopt the new NOC 2021 system for occupational classicization. Here are the key points to note from latest announcement by SINP regarding implementation new NOC system:

  • Saskatchewan to use new National Occupation Classification System (dated 2021) for its PNP, i.e. SINP
  • On November 16, 2022, the names and codes for occupations in Canada will change and the SINP and IRCC will use the new National Occupation Classification system (dated 2021).
  • All new applications will use the new system.

Saskatchewan is one of the most active Provincial Nominee Programs (PNPs) of Canada. In September 2022 alone, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has invited just under 3,000 candidates to apply for the provincial nomination for Canadian PR visa.
