Saskatchewan announced New Immigration Stream under SINP to Target Highly Skilled Tech Talent

Saskatchewan has launched a new Tech Talent Pathway under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) to target highly skilled technology professionals into the province. This new Immigration Stream aims to Target Highly Skilled Tech Talent. It will support Saskatchewan's booming tech sector by easing grave labour shortages. 

The SINP is a popular immigration program for the people willing to live, work and settle in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Find out more about this new immigration pathway.

New Tech Talent Pathway under SINP

This new Tech pathway will enable the Saskatchewan technology and innovation sector employers to lure more highly skilled talent to support extension of this sector and upsurge Saskatchewan's global competitiveness.

Eligibility requirements for SINP Tech Talent Pathway

To be eligible, candidates applying to Tech Talent Pathway needs to have:

  • An employer specific SINP Job Approval Letter for an eligible technology sector occupation;
  • a minimum official language level of CLB level 5 if the candidate is not working in Saskatchewan when they apply or CLB level 7 if applying for Express Entry;
  • Minimum one-year of work experience in that occupation in the past five years; or six months working in Saskatchewan;
  • post-secondary education; and
  • be eligible for Saskatchewan professional licensing (applicable to eligible computer, software, electrical and electronics engineers).

Eligibility for Express Entry Candidates

If you are an Express Entry candidate in the EE pool, you may eligible to apply under this sub-category if you stay outside Canada or have proof of legal status in Canada, are not a refugee claimant, moreover:

  • Have a valid Express Entry Profile Number and Job Seeker Code.
  • Have a language test result (English/French) that meets the federal Express Entry language requirements.
  • Meet other program requirements as mentioned above

How to Apply

To apply to this pilot, you need an employment offer. Your employer must provide you with a Job Approval Letter from the SINP. Moreover, please make certain that you:

  • Follow the instructions/ guidelines for the Application Process.
  • Complete, scan and submit all of your Required Documents.
