The Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has started inviting the potential sponsors of parents and grandparents for the 2021 process. It has randomly selected and invited potential sponsors from the remaining pool (of interest to sponsor forms) submitted by the candidates in 2020. The IRCC is began sending the invite to potential sponsors with effect from September 23, 2021.
As per the Canadian immigration department, the steps to sponsor PGP is bit different for this year, i.e. 2021. At now, the government is sending adequate invitations to achieve the goal of accepting 30,000 complete applications.It will continue issuing the invitations over the course of the next 2 weeks. In case, you get the ITA (Invitation to Apply), you must submit your online application by the deadline showing on your invitation to apply letter.
If you don’t get ITA (Invitation to Apply)
In case, you do not receive the invitation for Parents and Grandparents Program (PGP) this time, your parents and grandparents can still visit for extended periods. To invite your parents and grandparents to Canada, they need to be eligible to apply for a SUPER VISA, which can allow them live in Canada for up to 2 years at a time.
