Ontario’s Express Entry-HCP stream is now open to accept new applications

The Express Entry- Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is now open to accept the fresh applications. The OINP is the crucial Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) of the Ontario- the major Canadian province and a key pathway to get permanent residency in Canada.

However, to receive Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario and subsequently apply in OINP, you must have your profile registered in Federal Express Entry System.

Express Entry-HCP stream of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP)

The express Entry – Human Capital Priorities stream is a key part of Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) and vastly popular among the applicants as well. This stream provides key pathway to the applicants already registered in the express entry, but not received the ITA (Invitation to apply) till now.

If you apply in OINP and selected for the provincial nomination certificate, you will become eligible to receive 600 additional CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) points in the express entry. As a result, you will become eligible to receive ITA (Invitation to Apply) from Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada in the subsequent draw of express entry system.

Key requirements to apply in the Express Entry -HCP stream

To apply in express entry -HCP stream, you
  • Need to have a profile registered in the federal Express Entry system
  • Must have got a Notification of Interest (NOI) from Ontario that is still valid

>Also, please note:

  • Notifications of Interest (NOI) issued before November 1, 2017 are valid for 6 months or to December 31, 2017 (whichever comes first). It indicates that you need to submit an application for the HCP Stream in the OINP e-Filing Portal within 6 months of receiving your Notification of Interest from province of Ontario.
  • The Notification of Interests (NOIs) issued after November 1, 2017 are valid for 45 days or to December 31, 2017 (whichever comes first). This means that if you got your NOI after November 1, 2017, you require submitting an application for the EE- HCP in the OINP e-Filing Portal within 45 days of receiving your NOI from the province of Ontario.
  • All the Notification of Interests (NOIs) issued in 2017 are no longer valid after December 31, 2017.

Issuance of Nomination Certificate

In case your application is selected after the OINP allocation limit reached for 2017, the nomination certificate will be issued to you within the first quarter of 2018.

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program cannot accept the applications beyond the federal allocation quota for the year. Hence, candidates will be informed once the OINP reaches its intake limit for the year.
