Ontario PNP News & updates - January 2021

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is one of the most popular Canadian Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). The OINP invites the candidates to apply for a provincial nomination through its regular draws or invitation rounds. Subsequently, it issues nomination certificates to the selected candidates for the Canadian Permanent Residency (PR) visa.

 

Ontario invites the candidates even with relatively low CRS score compared to federal Express Entry System and nominates them for Canadian PR visa.

 

Last year, Ontario PNP invited a total of 9,080 candidates, through its three popular streams, i.e.

 

  • OINP- Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream
  • French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream and
  • Skilled Trades Stream

Ontario PNP updates in 2021

 

Ontario is expected to nominate a significant number of applicants this year as well for a Canadian PR visa. Let us look at the key OINP updates in January 2021:

 

  • Draw for French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream

Ontario issued 146 Notifications of Interest (NOIs) to apply for provincial nomination to express entry candidates under the French-speaking stream in the OINP draw took place on January 13, 2021. The required CRS score range was 456-467 to get the NOI.

  • Skilled Trades Stream draw

In the 13th January OINP draw, Ontario also invited 338 candidates to apply for provincial nomination under the Skilled Trades stream, with a CRS range of 434-460.

  • Regional Immigration Pilot update

Ontario's Regional Immigration Pilot (RIP) is continuing to accept intake forms from the applicants. An extra 150 nominations will be offered to the candidates, under this pilot in the year 2021.

 

However, you must complete the intake form entirety, as the pilot will not accept the incomplete forms.

 

Applicants eagerly awaiting the Ontario- HCP Stream Draw

 

The aspirant of Immigration to Ontario, Canada, are eagerly waiting for the draw of OINP- Human Capital Priorities (HCP) Stream- the most popular PNP stream. In 2020, the HCP stream invited 6,716 candidates to apply for provincial nomination. However, this year Ontario yet to open the draw for this stream.
